Mount Baldy Resort will resume chairlift rides on July 20, as the Vista Fire in the San Bernadino National Forest nears containment. The fire, which began on July 7, has affected nearly 3,000 acres, but the resort was spared.
As the fire reaches 83% containment, guests can enjoy scenic rides, dine at the Top of the Notch restaurant, and participate in the Moonlight Hike featuring a performance by Blue Hwy. However, some areas within the National Forest will remain closed until further notice.
Nearly 400 personnel are still working to contain the fire, and Mt. Baldy Resort expressed gratitude towards the firefighters, hot shot crews, pilots, and visitors who have supported the resort throughout the seasons.
The reopening of chairlift rides will provide a much-needed recreational opportunity for visitors as the wildfire threat decreases. This news comes as a relief to those eager to explore the beautiful scenery of the San Bernadino National Forest and enjoy the amenities and activities offered by Mount Baldy Resort.
