Chiefs dominate Texans, secure spot in seventh consecutive AFC title game – Daily News

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes led his team to a 23-14 victory over the Houston Texans on Saturday, advancing them to the AFC championship game for the seventh consecutive season. Mahomes threw for 177 yards and a touchdown to his trusted tight end Travis Kelce, who had seven catches for 117 yards and a score. The Chiefs are aiming for an unprecedented third consecutive Super Bowl title and have the opportunity to make history. Mahomes improved his playoff record to 16-3, tying Joe Montana for the second-most wins in NFL history. The Chiefs will face either the Bills or the Ravens in the next round.

Despite a strong effort from Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud, who threw for 245 yards, Houston was unable to secure the win. The Texans struggled with special teams, missing field goals and PATs that could have kept them in the game. Ultimately, the Chiefs’ defense held strong, sacking Stroud eight times and securing the victory. The Chiefs will now prepare to host the AFC title game and continue their quest for another Super Bowl championship.
