The San Fernando Valley offers a variety of community events and meetings for residents to come together and connect. From volunteer clean-up projects to book clubs and neighborhood council meetings, there is something for everyone to participate in. On September 2nd, volunteers are invited to participate in a Labor Day clean-up event in Northridge Park. The Glendale Branch of the American Association of University Women is hosting a luncheon meeting on September 7th. The Sherman Oaks Woman’s Club is welcoming prospective new members for a luncheon on September 4th. The Chatsworth Branch Library is hosting a board and card games event for adults on the same day.
The San Fernando Valley Chapter of the National Active Retired Federal Employees Association is holding its monthly meeting on September 4th, followed by the Chatsworth Library Book Club discussing the novel “The Sanatorium” by Sarah Pearse. On September 5th, the Granada Hills Woman’s Club is welcoming prospective members for a meeting that includes games and refreshments. The Granada Hills South and West Hills Neighborhood Councils are also hosting board meetings on September 5th.
Looking ahead, the California Writers Club – San Fernando Valley will host a discussion on book publicity on September 7th. The Youth 4 Hoods Coalition will meet on September 12th to address substance misuse by youth in the Northeast San Fernando Valley. The Current Events Nonfiction Book Club at the Studio City Branch Library will discuss “Why We Remember” by Charan Ranganath, PhD on September 13th.
In addition to these events, several farmers markets are held throughout the San Fernando Valley on weekends for residents to enjoy fresh produce and support local vendors. The community is encouraged to participate in these events and stay connected within their neighborhoods.
