Press Release
Leah Pruett and Tony Stewart Welcome New Addition Amid NHRA Finals
POMONA – In a remarkable turn of events blending family and racing, NHRA Top Fuel driver Leah Pruett gave birth to her son, Dominic James Stewart, on Saturday night in Phoenix. His father, Tony Stewart, an accomplished racer in his own right, took a brief pause from the hustle of competition to be present for his son’s arrival.
Stewart, who was in Pomona for the In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals, made the impromptu trip to Phoenix on Saturday after qualifying for the event. His swift return to Pomona on Sunday demonstrated his dedication both as a parent and a competitor. "Momma Leah Pruett and baby are doing great. Congratulations LP and Tony Stewart on becoming new parents! Only Tony could pull off qualifying, rushing to Phoenix to make it in time for the delivery, then back to Pomona Dragstrip for race day. Let’s go win Dominic a trophy," Tony Stewart Racing Nitro celebrated on social media.
Upon returning to the NHRA Finals, Stewart qualified seventh and prepared to face off against fellow competitor Billy Torrence in the first round. Pruett, a talented driver herself with a record of 12 event wins, has been a significant figure in the racing community.
This heartwarming moment serves as a reminder of the balance many athletes strive for between personal lives and their professional commitments. As the Stewart-Pruett family looks toward the future, fans and fellow racers join in celebrating this joyous milestone.
Stay tuned for updates on Tony Stewart’s performance at the NHRA Finals as he aims to continue the family legacy on the racetrack.
