Daily News: Adell and Pillar Placed on Injured List by Angels

In a recent game against the Texas Rangers, the Los Angeles Angels faced significant setbacks with injuries to outfielders Jo Adell and Kevin Pillar. Adell left the game early with a left oblique strain, while Pillar was pulled before the ninth inning with a left thumb sprain. These injuries may mark the end of the season for both players. Another blow to the team came with right-hander José Soriano being moved from the 15-day Injured List to the 60-day Injured List, ending his season due to right arm fatigue.

As a result of these injuries, outfielders Bryce Teodosio and Jordyn Adams were called up from Triple-A Salt Lake to fill the spots on the roster. Teodosio, who was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2021, was in disbelief when he received the news that he was being promoted to the Majors for the first time.

Manager Ron Washington expressed optimism about Adell’s breakout season and hopes for Pillar’s return before the season concludes. Adell has shown promise with a batting average of .207 and 20 home runs, while Pillar has demonstrated resilience after a previous thumb operation.

Teodosio, who was emotional upon receiving the news of his promotion, expressed gratitude for the opportunity and is focused on staying grounded for his MLB debut. He is eager to soak up the experience and make the most of this dream come true with the support of his wife, Brooklyn. Despite the challenges faced by the Angels, Teodosio’s unexpected promotion brings a sense of hope and excitement to the team.
