After much speculation, it has been revealed that Oasis will be reuniting for a series of stadium shows next summer. Fans were quick to wonder if this could potentially lead to a headline slot at Glastonbury Festival, with the band having previously headlined the Pyramid Stage in 1995 and 2004.
While Oasis has only officially confirmed the stadium dates as their “European shows”, they have not ruled out the possibility of a festival appearance. If they were to perform at Glastonbury, it would likely be in late June before they kick off their UK tour in July.
The band may see a potential Glastonbury appearance as an opportunity for redemption, especially after their poorly received performance in 2004. Frontman Liam Gallagher has since admitted that he “hated” the 2004 show, blaming his use of in-ear monitors for affecting his performance.
Glastonbury’s lineup has yet to be finalized, and surprise appearances are not uncommon at the festival. Should Oasis make a return to Worthy Farm, it could be a highly anticipated moment for both fans and festival-goers alike.
As the anticipation builds for Oasis’ return to the stage, only time will tell if a Glastonbury slot is in the cards for the iconic British band.
