Petrobras Relying on Paradigm’s Technology for Deluge System Testing

Paradigm Fire Protection Services is set to revolutionize fire protection testing in the oil and gas industry with their Dry-Flo technology. The Búzios field FPSO units, both operational and under construction, will begin using this waterless approved technology for periodic testing of deluge systems.

Henrique Gaio, managing director of Paradigm, highlighted the benefits of Dry-Flo, stating that it provides greater precision in mapping internal conditions while reducing the short- and long-term impacts of water saturation on process and production areas. The technology also minimizes the potential for water ingress into critical electrical equipment and under insulation.

The digital technology, approved by DNV, offers a solution for waterless annual performance and compliance testing of fire protection systems. This aligns with international standards such as NFPA and API for testing, inspection, and maintenance of water-based fire suppression systems.

Daniel McCormick, global sales director at Paradigm, emphasized the value of Dry-Flo in mitigating environmental setbacks caused by system discharge, minimizing disruptions to operations, and extending asset life.

By adopting Dry-Flo technology, FPSO units in the Búzios field are poised to improve efficiency, reduce risks, ensure sustainability, and extend the life of their assets. This innovation represents a significant step forward in the fire protection industry, offering a more efficient and environmentally friendly solution for testing fire suppression systems.
