A group of Spanish learners recently had an immersive experience in Bogota, Colombia through a luxury Spanish immersion program called Fluenz. The participants explored the world-famous Gold Museum, where they learned about the ancient pre-Hispanic gold artifacts and the rich history of the region. They also enjoyed cultural experiences such as visiting local markets, dining at renowned restaurants, and exploring the historic district of La Candelaria.
The program, which offers individualized study abroad experiences primarily in Mexico but also in other countries, aims to help English speakers become fluent in Spanish. The students, ranging from retired professionals to working individuals, bonded over their shared passion for learning the language and immersing themselves in the Colombian culture.
Throughout the program, the participants attended daily classes with instructors from Mexico City, Colombia, and Venezuela, who not only taught them the language but also shared insights into their respective cultures. The students also had the opportunity to practice their Spanish outside of the classroom by engaging with locals and exploring the city.
Despite the challenging nature of learning a new language, the participants found the experience rewarding and enjoyable. They left Bogota with a newfound appreciation for the Spanish language and a deeper understanding of the vibrant Colombian culture. The program offers a unique opportunity for individuals to expand their linguistic and cultural horizons while exploring one of Latin America’s most dynamic cities.
