The latest Nielsen radio ratings for the holiday season were released last week, covering December 5 to January 8. KOST (103.5 FM) led the pack with a 12.4 share, followed by KRTH (101.1 FM) at 4.7 and KIIS (102.7 FM) at 4.6. KFI (640 AM) saw a decline in ratings, dropping from 4th place last year to 12th this year. Go Country (KKGO-FM, 105.1) and Alt (KYSR, 98.7 FM) saw an increase in ratings, while KROQ (106.7 FM) saw a decrease.
KUSC (91.5 FM) jumped into the top 10 with a 3.6 share, and KLAC (570 AM) saw a decrease in ratings once the Dodgers season ended. Power 106 KPWR (105.9 FM) had its lowest rating in a while at 1.4, while Go Country Gold (KKGO, 1260 AM) made its ratings debut at 0.1. Richard Wagoner, a freelance columnist, noted the trends and speculated on the reasons behind the ratings changes. It will be interesting to see how the stations fare in the coming months.
