Aquiline Drones (AD) and Drone Volt SA (ALDRV) have signed a groundbreaking licensing agreement to bring the LineDrone technology to the United States for power line inspections. The LineDrone, developed in collaboration with Hydro-Québec, is a unique UAS designed to revolutionize the inspection and maintenance of high-voltage power lines.
By incorporating AI technology and advanced sensors, the LineDrone can conduct inspections on live transmission lines without the need for power outages, reducing operational risks and enhancing grid reliability. This innovative solution aims to provide a safer, more cost-effective, and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional inspection methods.
Aquiline Drones will leverage its expertise in autonomous drone operations to deploy the LineDrone technology for utility companies and infrastructure service providers throughout the US, training a workforce of professional LineDrone service providers (LDSPs) in the process. This partnership aligns with AD’s mission to deliver cutting-edge drone solutions that enhance safety, efficiency, and sustainability in the energy industry.
Under the agreement, AD will expand the distribution of LineDrone services in the US, provide specialized drone pilot training, offer competitive commercial liability insurance, and create contracted opportunities for LDSPs. With increasing demand for efficient grid management solutions, this collaboration aims to redefine how utility companies monitor and maintain their critical infrastructure.
