BurdaLuxury has announced the promotion of Martin Teo to editor-in-chief of Lifestyle Asia in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. Teo, who previously held the role of editor-in-chief of Lifestyle Asia Kuala Lumpur, will now be responsible for driving key strategies for editorial and creative growth, as well as enhancing collaboration between the two countries. His new role will involve merging local and cross-territory stories, introducing digital covers for Lifestyle Asia Singapore, and expanding on existing initiatives such as the “Made in Asia” campaign.
Teo joined BurdaLuxury in 2018 and has since demonstrated his vision and leadership qualities through various initiatives and campaigns. Prior to joining the organization, he served in several roles in the media industry, including as creative director at Brainstorm Consultancy and editor of D+A magazine.
In his new role, Teo expressed excitement about the opportunity to convey the brand’s core values and inspire audiences to live their best lives. Lena Kwek, managing director and publisher at BurdaLuxury Singapore and Malaysia, expressed confidence in Teo’s ability to drive growth and increase the brand’s presence through a deeper understanding of market trends and opportunities.
The appointment of Teo comes after Kwek was appointed managing director of BurdaLuxury Malaysia and Singapore in November last year. The company aims to encourage collaboration across its brands, including Prestige, PIN Prestige, AUGUSTMAN, and Travel + Leisure, while respecting local market preferences. Kwek, with over twenty years of experience in publishing and sales, is seen as a key figure in driving growth in the luxury market.
