In a thrilling comeback victory, the No. 4 USC women’s basketball team defeated Indiana 73-66 on Sunday. USC overcame an 11-point deficit, with JuJu Watkins leading the charge by scoring 22 points. Rayah Marshall added 13 points and 10 rebounds to secure the Trojans’ 13th straight win.
Despite trailing early in the game, USC fought back to take the lead at halftime. Watkins sealed the victory with a buzzer-beating three-pointer at the end of the third quarter, sparking a 12-0 run in the final quarter. Indiana’s Sydney Parrish led her team with 16 points and 10 rebounds, but couldn’t overcome USC’s late surge.
The Trojans had a slow start in freezing temperatures but eventually showcased their talent as one of the nation’s top teams. Indiana, on the other hand, struggled with three-point shooting, only making eight of 29 attempts. USC’s ability to dominate in the paint ultimately made the difference in the game.
Looking ahead, USC will face Purdue on Wednesday, while Indiana will take on Oregon on Friday. Despite the loss, the Hoosiers displayed tenacity and strong defense throughout the game. The Trojans’ resilience and Watkins’ clutch performance highlight their strength as contenders in the Big Ten conference.
