Ryder Wallace, a freshman at Firth High School, comes from a long line of rodeo competitors and is making a name for himself in the sport. With recent accomplishments at the Junior Roughstock World Finals in Las Vegas, where he placed third in saddle bronc and eighth in bareback, Ryder is on his way to achieving his goal of becoming a professional rodeo cowboy. Despite facing setbacks, such as a concussion that put him out of competition for six weeks, Ryder remains committed to the sport, practicing on mechanical bucking machines and developing his skills in wrestling as well.
Growing up in a fifth-generation family ranching and rodeo lifestyle has instilled a deep passion for the sport in Ryder and his sister, Kinsley, who also competes in rodeo. The Wallace family’s commitment to rodeo extends beyond just their own children, as they are part of a tight-knit community of families and friends who share a love for the sport. As Ryder prepares for the upcoming high school rodeo season and sets his sights on new challenges like steer wrestling, he continues to train and work towards his goal of making a successful career out of his passion for rodeo. Despite the winter downtime, Ryder stays dedicated to his training, knowing that hard work and perseverance will be key to achieving his dreams in the sport.
