Dodgers sign standout reliever Tanner Scott in free-agency deal

The Los Angeles Dodgers are continuing their quest to build the best bullpen in baseball by reaching an agreement with free agent left-hander Tanner Scott on a four-year, $72 million contract. Known for his dominance on the mound, Scott joins a strong bullpen that already includes Blake Treinen and Michael Kopech.

The deal includes a significant signing bonus and deferred salary, which benefits both the Dodgers and Scott. Over the past two seasons, Scott has proven himself as one of the top relievers in the league with a 2.04 ERA and 34 saves. Last season with the Padres, he held opposing batters to a .179 average with a .528 OPS.

Scott’s impressive performance was highlighted in the NL Division Series when he struck out Shohei Ohtani four times. While the agreement has not been officially confirmed by the team, it is expected that a roster move will be necessary to clear a spot for Scott on the 40-man roster. Dodger fans can look forward to seeing Scott take the mound and contribute to the team’s success in the upcoming season.
