Altadena, CA – Tommy Keiser, 41, and Chelsea Bayouth, 38, are among the many individuals affected by the Eaton Fire that tore through their community on January 11, 2025, destroying their home of four years. The couple had made Altadena their peaceful escape from the pandemic chaos in Los Feliz, with their daughter Valentine born soon after their move. They had found a sense of community and belonging in the neighborhood, with hopes of living there forever. However, the fire changed everything, forcing them to evacuate with only a few belongings.
While reflecting on their loss, Keiser and Bayouth hold onto small fragments of memories salvaged from their destroyed home. Despite plans to move forward and find a new dwelling, Keiser admits the difficulty of letting go of the natural beauty and memories associated with their former residence. The couple now faces the challenge of rebuilding their lives and finding a new place to call home after the devastating fire.
