The iconic soul group The Stylistics is making a comeback with a new album, “Falling in Love With My Girl,” after almost two decades since their last release. The new 21-track record features collaborations with artists like Shania Twain, Ronnie Wood of The Rolling Stones, and Gene Simmons of Kiss, taking the band in a surprising direction with elements of pop and country sounds. Despite their established sound, band members admit to feeling nervous about the new music. The Stylistics will be performing at The Wiltern on Jan. 11 ahead of the album release on Feb. 24. The first single, “Yes, I Will,” featuring Shania Twain, will be released on Feb. 14, showcasing the band’s shift toward a different genre. Although incorporating new material, the band plans to maintain their classic sound during live performances to cater to longtime fans. The new album is an exciting new chapter for The Stylistics, as they continue to evolve and grow as a group after nearly six decades in the music industry.
