The No. 15 UCLA men’s basketball team suffered a tough 66-58 loss to Nebraska on Saturday, despite strong efforts from some players and a second-half comeback attempt. Playing without key players Eric Dailey Jr. and struggling point guard Dylan Andrews, the Bruins struggled to find their rhythm on offense.
Sebastian Mack had a rough shooting night, making only three of 11 shots and committing four turnovers before fouling out. The team as a whole struggled from beyond the arc, making just four of 28 three-point attempts. Andrews continued to struggle, finishing with only two points and four turnovers in limited minutes.
Despite a strong performance from Tyler Bilodeau, who scored 15 points, the Bruins could not overcome Nebraska’s well-executed game. Guard Brice Williams led the Cornhuskers with 16 points as they extended their home winning streak to 20 games.
The game was marked by several momentum swings, with both teams going on impressive scoring runs. UCLA started strong with a 7-0 run, but Nebraska responded with a 15-0 run of their own. The Bruins countered with a 15-0 run before the Cornhuskers closed the first half with a 9-0 run.
Overall, UCLA struggled to find consistency and were unable to capitalize on opportunities to take control of the game. With key players missing and others struggling, the Bruins will need to regroup and refocus ahead of their next game against Michigan.
