In their absence, Jaxson Hayes and Christian Koloko stepped up to fill the void. The Lakers acquired Dorian Finney-Smith and Shake Milton in a trade with the Brooklyn Nets, and they made their debuts in the loss to the Cavaliers. Redick acknowledged that it will take some time for the new players to adjust to the team’s system and terminology.
