NBC Sports California has announced Alan Hoshida as the new host for their live gameday coverage of the San Jose Sharks for the upcoming NHL season. Hoshida, a Bay Area native, will lead Sharks Pregame Live and Sharks Pregame Live, providing viewers with news, analysis, commentary, and interviews surrounding the Sharks games.
Joining Hoshida on the shows will be analysts Ted Ramey, Nick Nollenberger, and Mark Smith, along with former Sharks defenseman Dan Boyle and former NHL forward Jamal Mayers. NBC Sports California President and General Manager Matt Murphy expressed excitement about Hoshida joining the team and praised his passion for hockey and deep connection to Northern California.
With over 13 years of experience in sports television, Hoshida’s career includes stints at KHON-TV in Honolulu and various roles with NBC Sports California and Bay Area. A Gilroy, California native, Hoshida started his career as a sports intern and eventually moved up to hosting roles after graduating from San Francisco State University with a degree in broadcast journalism.
