One woman has died and three others were hospitalized after a fire broke out in a row of townhomes in Panorama City early Saturday morning. Firefighters were called to the scene at 9201 N. Wakefield Ave., where flames were seen coming from one unit and spreading to a second unit. It took 70 firefighters 43 minutes to put out the heavy flames. A 25-year-old man, an 83-year-old woman, and another man were taken to hospitals in unknown conditions. Fortunately, firefighters were able to prevent the fire from spreading to a third attached home. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the LAFD arson investigators. This tragic incident serves as a reminder of the importance of fire safety and prevention measures in residential buildings.
