PALM DESERT – In an impressive performance, the USC women’s basketball team defeated Saint Louis 104-65 in the Acrisure Holiday Invitational. JuJu Watkins excelled with 34 points, despite four fouls, while Kiki Iriafen contributed a career-high of 30 points. This marked the first time since 2000 that two USC players scored at least 30 points in the same game. Talia Von Oelhoffen also had a strong game with 13 points, six rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
Although Saint Louis put up a fight in the first half, USC pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring the Billikens 37-8. The Trojans capitalized on their defense, scoring 19 points off turnovers. USC’s dominance continued throughout the game, with the team converting 24 Saint Louis turnovers into 45 points. Mia Bergstrom led the Billikens with 19 points.
The Trojans are now 6-1 for the season and will face Cal Baptist next. This win follows their previous victory over Seton Hall, establishing USC as a strong contender in the desert tournament.
