USC’s trip to Palm Springs for the Acrisure Classic didn’t go as planned, as the Trojans suffered defeats in both games. In the third-place match, New Mexico emerged victorious with an 83-73 win over USC. Tru Washington led scoring with 20 points for New Mexico, while Donovan Dent contributed 17 points, 11 assists, and six rebounds. USC’s Josh Cohen scored 14 points in the losing effort.
Despite the losses, USC players like Dent showed consistency throughout the games, being the only player to achieve at least 10 points and five assists in every game this season. The Trojans struggled to keep up with New Mexico and suffered a heavy defeat in their opener against St. Mary’s.
With a mix of strong individual performances and areas needing improvement, USC’s Thanksgiving week in Palm Springs has provided the team with valuable lessons to work on as they progress through the season.
