The new season of Pintos athletics at California High School started with a bang as the winter sports teams hosted a special media night for the community. The event included activities like team pictures, performances from spirit squads, a silent auction, a concession stand, and carnival-style games. Fans got their first look at the 2024-25 basketball and wrestling teams, with coaches expressing confidence in their respective teams’ abilities. The Lady Pintos basketball team, led by coach Kevin Carr, is expecting a season similar to last year’s district championship run. The Pintos basketball team, under coach Conway, is excited about the potential of their more mature team with seniors who have been varsity players for three years. The wrestling team, coming off a historic win, is confident in their increased talent and numbers, with hopes of winning the district this year. Both basketball teams will play in the Tipton Tournament next week, while Pintos wrestling will host the California Quad. With a promising lineup and a supportive fan base, California High School’s winter sports teams are gearing up for an exciting season ahead.
