The 2024 Turkey Trot took place in Encinitas on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2024, with participants showcasing creative costumes and festive spirits. Ali Linkenhelt was seen pushing her 3-month-old daughter Octavia in a pilgrim dinner table stroller, while Suzanne and David Miller sported fall leaves costumes themed “Rake me up” during the 10K race. Matthew Lafond received a fist bump during the 5K race, and various participants, including a man in a turkey costume, were captured nearing the finish line.
Official mascot Austin Sack encouraged young runners during the event, which also featured kids’ age group races. Tamryn McAllister wore a turkey costume for the 10K race, and Debbie Dorsee was seen preparing to run. Participants Alex Fritzler, Tim Harshman, Megan Fritzler, Michael Brenner, and Christina Bashian sported turkey costumes as they completed the 5K race.
