ARLINGTON, Texas — In a decisive victory, the Houston Texans defeated the Dallas Cowboys 34-10 on Monday night, marking a resurgence for the Texans and extending the Cowboys’ struggles this season. Joe Mixon starred for Houston, rushing for three touchdowns, while defensive end Derek Barnett returned a fumble for a touchdown, contributing to the Texans’ win.
With this victory, the Texans improved to 7-4, successfully halting only the second two-game losing streak for quarterback C.J. Stroud in his two-year career. The Texans maintain a two-game lead in the AFC South, solidifying their playoff ambitions.
The Cowboys, now with a disappointing 3-7 record, faced a cascade of misfortunes throughout the game. A bizarre incident occurred before kickoff when debris fell from the stadium’s retractable roof, although no injuries were reported. Dallas has now suffered five straight losses, equaling their longest skid since 2015, a stark contrast to their previous seasons where they lost just five games each year.
