Beloved “Golden Girls” actor Betty White will be memorialized on a new postage stamp by the U.S. Postal Service next year as part of the 2025 Forever Stamp offerings. White, who passed away in 2021 just before her 100th birthday, was known for her roles in “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and “Boston Legal.” The stamp features a 2010 photo of White smiling in front of a purple background, with a digital illustration created by Dale Stephanos based on the photo. The stamp was designed by art director Greg Breeding.
In addition to White, the Postal Service also announced that Allen Toussaint will be featured on the Black Heritage series stamp in 2025. Toussaint, who passed away in 2015, was described as a talented pianist, singer, songwriter, composer, arranger, and producer. The stamp features a photo of Toussaint taken by Bill Tompkins in 2007, and was designed by art director Ethel Kessler.
Other stamp offerings for 2025 include a love-themed stamp featuring art by Keith Haring, a Lunar New Year stamp for the year of the snake, and a baby wild animal stamp collection. The Postal Service aims to provide a diverse range of subjects and designs for both philatelists and stamp enthusiasts. Additional stamps for 2025 will be announced in the coming weeks and months, with no specific release date confirmed as of now.
