San Fernando Valley Community Events: Upcoming Gatherings and Activities
Residents of the San Fernando Valley are invited to participate in a wide range of community events and activities this November, promoting engagement, collaboration, and local support.
On November 18, "Wings Over Wendy’s" will host veterans from all services and ages at 7401 Shoup Ave in West Hills from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Meanwhile, Volunteers Cleaning Communities will be organizing various projects aimed at enhancing local environments, with details available on their website.
For older adults, the Encore Education Program at Los Angeles Pierce College is accepting registrations for Winter-Spring 2025 classes that cover an array of subjects, from art to finance, all free of charge for participants aged 50 and over. Classes are offered both online and in-person at 6201 Winnetka Ave, Woodland Hills.
Several neighborhood councils, including Arleta and Pacoima, will hold board meetings this week. The Pacoima Neighborhood Council’s gathering on November 20 will be accessible in-person and via Zoom.
A variety of interest-based gatherings are also scheduled, such as the Southern California Garden Club meeting with guest speaker Dr. Jamie Kneitel discussing California vernal pools on November 19 at Sepulveda Garden Center, and the Mystery and Thriller Book Club at Studio City Library, set to meet on November 20.
The month wraps up with the Hope The Mission’s Drumstick Dash in North Hollywood on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, where community members can participate in a 5K/10K run to raise funds for local food assistance initiatives.
Additionally, local farmers markets are operational weekly, offering fresh produce and community engagement opportunities across various locations in the Valley.
