Rams Rally for 28-22 Victory Over Patriots in Thrilling Matchup
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — The Los Angeles Rams showcased the essence of teamwork in their 28-22 victory against the New England Patriots on Sunday, emphasizing coach Sean McVay’s belief that football is "the greatest team sport."
The Rams’ offense found its rhythm for two quarters, overcoming earlier struggles in both the passing and running games. With a renewed sense of coordination, they recorded their first game exceeding 400 total yards this season, finishing with 402 yards and notably accumulating 107 rushing yards for the first time in three weeks.
Quarterback Matthew Stafford was well-protected by the offensive line, which featured rookie Beaux Limmer. Wide receivers Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua put immense pressure on the Patriots’ defense. Kupp achieved 106 yards and two touchdowns, while Nacua impressed with 123 yards and a touchdown, including a career-high 117 yards in the first half.
Although the Rams faced initial frustrations, unable to convert third downs and failing to score in the first quarter, they turned the tide midway through the game. A critical defensive play by tackle Kobie Turner set the stage for a touchdown reception by Kupp, followed by Nacua’s touchdown that brought the Rams back into contention.
Despite a late-game push from the Patriots, who closed the gap with two long drives, the Rams’ defense stepped up with key plays, including a blocked PAT and an interception from Kamren Kinchens, sealing the game. With this victory, the Rams improve to 5-5, while the Patriots struggle at 3-8. The win reignited hope in the Rams’ season as they strive for playoff contention.
