The Stevens Institute of Technology men’s swim team secured victories over Hartwick College and the University of Scranton on Saturday, improving their record to 2-2. The Ducks dominated Hartwick with a score of 193-87 and narrowly defeated Scranton with a score of 149-135.
The team started the tri-meet strong with a win in the 200-medley relay by Deo Bove, Angel Velasquez, Edward Platonov, and Will Stibor. Individual standout performances included Platonov and Stibor in the 200 free, Ryan Ward and Jack Martinek in the 100-back, and Stibor and Cermak in the 100-freestyle.
Other notable performances included Joe Sparshott in the 200-fly, Leo Timmerman in the 50-free, and Ethan Emerton in the 200-back. The Ducks closed out the meet with a victory in the 400-freestyle relay, showcasing their depth and talent in multiple events.
Head Coach Adam Schneider expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance, highlighting impressive swims by Sparshott and Delaney Klaus. The team is looking forward to their upcoming competition at the TCNJ Invitational at The College of New Jersey next weekend.
Overall, the team’s strong showing against Hartwick and Scranton sets a positive tone for the rest of the season as they continue to work towards their goals.
