The University of Mysore recently hosted a two-day national conference on Assisted Reproductive Technology, which was inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor N.K. Lokanath. The event, titled ‘Current Updates and Recent Advances in Assisted Reproductive Technology’, aimed to showcase new developments in the field and provide a platform for knowledge sharing and professional growth. The conference coincided with the birth centenary of IVF pioneer Dr. Robert Edwards, with experts discussing a wide range of advances in reproductive science, including the latest technologies within ART.
Organized jointly by the University of Mysore and the Asia Pacific Institute of Embryology (ASPIER), the conference highlighted ASPIER’s role in academic and practical excellence in clinical embryology and pre-implantation genetics. The event also emphasized the importance of preparing the next generation of embryologists through specialized programs like the MSc in Clinical Embryology under the University of Mysore.
Prof. Lokanath emphasized the significant impact of advancements in embryology on society and encouraged participants to shape the future of reproductive medicine.
