LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings secured a 6-3 victory against the Vegas Golden Knights on Wednesday night at Crypto.com Arena, with Anze Kopitar leading the charge with a goal and two assists, including his 800th career assist. Adrian Kempe and Kevin Fiala also contributed with a goal and an assist each, while Warren Foegele, Alex Laferriere, and Joel Edmundson found the back of the net as well.
Brandt Clarke added three assists and Mikey Anderson had two assists in the Kings’ win. Goalie Darcy Kuemper made 23 saves to help secure the victory. Kopitar’s milestone assist puts him among the elite group of players born outside of North America to reach 800 assists, joining the likes of Jaromir Jagr, Evgeni Malkin, Nicklas Lidstrom, and Henrik Sedin.
On the Vegas side, Pavel Dorofeyev scored two goals and Tanner Pearson added another, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Kings. Vegas remains undefeated at home but has struggled on the road this season with a 0-3-1 record.
The Kings’ goals came in quick succession throughout the game, with multiple goals scored within seconds of each other in different periods. Fiala, who was a healthy scratch the previous night, made a strong comeback in this game and contributed significantly to the team’s success.
Kopitar’s dominance against the Golden Knights continued as he now has 39 points in 34 games against them, the most points by any player facing Vegas. The Kings will look to carry this momentum into their next game against Chicago on Saturday at 1 p.m.
