Lindsay Charles, a senior at Westridge School, was crowned the 2025 Rose Queen at the Tournament of Roses in Pasadena. With her royal court of six princesses beside her, Charles accepted the Mikimoto crown and embraced her role as the 106th Rose Queen. As an accomplished student and community leader, Charles plans to study environmental science or neuroscience at university. The Rose Court, comprised of seven young ladies, including Charles, represents the heart and spirit of the Rose Parade on New Year’s Day.
The finalists for the Rose Court underwent rigorous training in public speaking and etiquette before the queen was chosen. Applicants from various schools in the Pasadena area competed for a spot on the court, with Charles ultimately being selected as the Rose Queen. The requirements for applicants have been expanded this year to include individuals from additional zip codes in neighboring areas, reflecting the Tournament of Roses’ commitment to diversity and inclusion.
The Rose Court will make their grand appearance at the 136th Rose Parade on January 1, 2025, themed “Best Day Ever!” Following the parade, they will attend the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the 111th Rose Bowl Game. The announcement of Lindsay Charles as the Rose Queen has brought excitement and pride to the Pasadena community as they eagerly await the New Year’s Day celebrations.
