The Los Angeles Kings ended their season-opening seven-game road trip in Las Vegas with a 6-1 loss to the Golden Knights. Tomas Hertl had two goals and two assists for Vegas, snapping their three-game losing streak. The Kings finished the trip 3-2-2, including a stop in Anaheim. Vegas took control early in the game, scoring three goals in the first period. Trevor Moore had six takeaways in the first six games of the season but had none against the Golden Knights. Mark Stone, Pavel Dorofeyev, Alexander Holtz, and Ivan Brabashev also scored for Vegas. Hertl tied his career-high with four points in the game. The Golden Knights will face San Jose next, while the Kings will host San Jose in their home opener on Thursday. Holtz scored his first goal with Vegas in the game, and goaltender Akira Schmid was acquired from New Jersey in June for forward Paul Cotter. Vegas remained undefeated at home this season.
