Disneyland has unveiled Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, a reimagined version of the popular Splash Mountain ride, in tribute to Disney’s first Black princess. The attraction, themed after the 2009 film “The Princess and the Frog,” replaces the controversial “Song of the South” theme that had origins in the 1940s. The new ride features Princess Tiana, Louis the alligator, and Mama Odie as key characters, with updated animatronics and vibrant scenes throughout the experience.
During a recent preview for Magic Key annual passholders, guests gushed about the immersive storytelling and upbeat soundtrack from the film, praising the lifelike animatronics and nod to Louisiana culture. The ride maintains its signature splashes and drops, offering a refreshing and entertaining experience.
Despite some initial technical challenges during previews, Disneyland plans to officially open Tiana’s Bayou Adventure to the public on November 15. Fans have eagerly awaited this transformation of Splash Mountain, looking forward to the new storyline and enchanting details that bring Princess Tiana’s world to life.
As guests eagerly anticipate the official opening, Disneyland continues to offer select previews for passholders, where spots in the virtual queue disappear quickly. With its engaging storyline and catchy tunes, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure promises to be a must-visit attraction at the park for guests of all ages, providing a magical and unforgettable experience for years to come.
