Tickets for the highly-anticipated Epic Universe theme park in central Florida could go on sale as early as late October, according to a report from the Wall Street Journal. The new theme park, set to open by Memorial Day weekend in 2025, will feature lands dedicated to wizards, dragons, monsters, and gorillas.
Universal Orlando has not confirmed an exact opening date for the 750-acre Epic Universe theme park beyond the summer of 2025. The park plans to require visitors to purchase a multi-day ticket during the initial launch, with single-day tickets not available initially to avoid overcrowding.
Epic Universe will include five themed lands, including Harry Potter’s Ministry of Magic, Super Nintendo World with a Donkey Kong roller coaster, How to Train Your Dragon’s Isle of Berk, Dark Universe based on classic Universal Monsters, and Celestial Park entry promenade. The park is expected to boost attendance across all three of Universal’s Florida theme parks by 8 million visitors in 2025 and 2026.
Walt Disney World has also announced plans to counter the launch of Epic Universe by adding new attractions, including a Monsters Inc. suspended coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and a Disney Villains land at the Magic Kingdom.
Overall, the opening of Epic Universe is highly anticipated and could bring significant economic benefits to the theme park industry in central Florida.
