A Frontier flight traveling from San Diego to Las Vegas made a hard landing at Harry Reid International Airport after the pilots detected smoke in the cockpit and declared an emergency. The Airbus 321 experienced a hard landing, resulting in flames visible underneath the aircraft as it rolled on the tarmac. The Clark County Fire Department responded immediately, and all passengers and crew were safely evacuated using the airstairs and bussed to the terminal. No injuries were reported during the incident, which occurred at approximately 4:20 p.m. local time.
A ground stop was in effect at the airport until 7 p.m., halting all incoming and outgoing flights. Video of the incident posted on social media shows the plane with flames and smoke coming from underneath, with fire trucks approaching to extinguish the fire. The cause of the incident is currently under investigation by the FAA.
