Kim Jong-un threatens to use nuclear weapons against South Korea in case of attack

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un warned that the country would not hesitate to use all available offensive forces, including nuclear weapons, to defend its sovereignty against any enemy threat. Kim criticized South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol for threatening to end the North Korean regime, saying it was the South Korean leader who was destroying regional security. Kim made the comments at a training base of army special operation units and stated that any attempt to encroach on North Korea’s sovereignty would be met with a strong response, including the use of nuclear weapons.

North Korea has been pursuing a nuclear weapons program for decades and is believed to have the capability to build dozens of such weapons. South Korea recently marked armed forces day with a military parade featuring a ballistic missile capable of carrying a large warhead, as well as a U.S. bomber flypast. Yoon warned Pyongyang against using nuclear weapons, stating that it would be met with a strong response from the South Korean military and its U.S. allies.

Despite the threats and actions of its enemies, Kim stated that they would not diminish North Korea’s military strength or take away its nuclear weapons. Kim’s comments come amid ongoing tensions and military displays in the region, with both North and South Korea showcasing their military capabilities.
