VP Debate Skips Important Questions in Polite Exchange – Daily News

The Vice-Presidential debate between Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Republican Sen. JD Vance was a refreshing break from the combative nature of previous debates, but it lacked important questions on foreign policy. Moderators Norah O’Donnell and Margaret Brennan failed to ask about key issues such as the Ukraine War, Russian nuclear doctrine, and the BRICS summit focusing on de-dollarization. The debate also failed to address the soaring national debt, currently at $35 trillion, and how to prevent bankruptcy.

Both candidates offered spending priorities on domestic issues like climate change and healthcare, but neither adequately addressed how to pay for their proposed plans. Walz focused on taxing the wealthy while Vance advocated for Trump’s tariffs. However, the moderators showed bias against Vance and Trump by not providing alternative economic analyses.

The debate highlighted the need for more in-depth questioning and a focus on solutions to the country’s economic challenges. Voters were left unsatisfied with the lack of substantive answers from the candidates. In the end, the polite debate failed to address the pressing concerns facing the nation and left voters without the information needed to make an informed decision.
