Great Park Live in Irvine is set to host its first commercial shows, starting with country star Clay Walker on Oct. 25. Other acts scheduled include Brooks Nielsen and a Halloween show, as well as Ludacris with the Ying Yang Twins in November. The amphitheater, with a capacity of 5000 seats, began hosting events in July, featuring performances from the Pacific Symphony and tribute acts. The venue was approved as a temporary space, part of a $6.6 million contract with PSQ Productions, Inc., with plans for a future permanent arena with 8,000 to 10,000 seats. This new venue will replace the FivePoint Amphitheatre, which closed after Live Nation could not reach an agreement with the city. Tickets for upcoming shows are available on greatparklive.com and Ticketmaster.com, with prices ranging from $49.50 to $146.75. The Great Park Live hopes to continue bringing top acts to Irvine’s residents and visitors while plans for a permanent arena progress.
