Detroit Pistons owner Tom Gores is set to purchase a 27% stake in the Chargers, resolving a dispute between Dea Spanos Berberian and her siblings. Gores will have no control over the team’s operations and is only buying Spanos Berberian’s share after years of litigation started in 2021. Berberian hoped to force a sale of the team due to her brother’s mismanagement causing financial issues for the family. Attorney Adam Streisand represented Berberian and shifted focus to removing her from the ownership group. The sale must still be approved by league owners in October.
