LOS ANGELES – Linebacker Tackett Curtis has embarked on a new chapter with the Wisconsin Badgers after leaving USC and Southern California. After dealing with a sports hernia surgery and a tumultuous departure from USC, Curtis found himself reunited with former USC defensive coordinator Alex Grinch, now at Wisconsin. Despite feeling like “damaged goods” after leaving USC, Curtis has found a supportive advocate in Grinch at Wisconsin.
Curtis made his debut with the Badgers in September, making an impact on the field with five tackles in a win over South Dakota. While reflecting on his decision to transfer to Wisconsin, Curtis remains grateful for the opportunity to develop under the coaching staff at Wisconsin.
As Curtis prepares to face his former team, USC, the decision to transfer still lingers. Despite USC’s defensive overhaul, Curtis remains focused on his new journey with the Badgers. His father, Moses, recalls the challenges Curtis faced at USC and the difficult decision to transfer.
While USC has seen improvements in their defense under a new coaching staff, Curtis is content with his decision to transfer to Wisconsin. Despite the what-ifs, Curtis is committed to his new team and is excited about the future with the Badgers. Amidst the upcoming game against USC, Curtis remains focused on his growth as a player and the support he has found at Wisconsin.
