Netflix is producing a docuseries executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson about charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and other allegations against Sean “Diddy” Combs. The project is being directed by Alexandria Stapleton and aims to present an authentic and nuanced perspective on the issue. 50 Cent and Stapleton are committed to giving a voice to the voiceless and ensuring that Combs’ story does not overshadow the broader contributions of hip-hop culture.
The docuseries was announced by 50 Cent in early December after Combs faced lawsuits from several women, including accusations of spiking drinks and sexual assault. Combs was later arrested and charged on multiple counts, pleading not guilty but remaining in custody. He has also faced additional lawsuits from former employees and sexual assault victims.
In May, a leaked video showed Combs physically assaulting Cassie in a hotel, to which he later admitted taking responsibility for his actions. However, prior to this, he had denied all allegations and claimed that people were trying to destroy his reputation for financial gain.
Netflix’s involvement in the docuseries has been confirmed, marking their first official announcement about the project. The series is set to shed light on the allegations against Combs and contribute proceeds towards supporting sexual assault victims. The project aims to provide a thorough examination of the complex narrative surrounding the controversy.
