High school flag football saw numerous exciting matchups on Monday with various schools in the City and Southern sections facing off. In the City Section, Animo De La Hoya edged out L.A. Leadership Academy 13-12, while Crenshaw shut out King/Drew 6-0. Other notable games included Fremont defeating Hawkins 20-12, and San Pedro triumphing over Banning 32-19.
In the Southern Section, Anaheim Canyon dominated Garden Grove Pacifica 42-6, while Gahr defeated Paramount 16-6. There were close games between Corona and Corona Centennial, with Corona emerging victorious 26-19. Brentwood secured a 19-0 win over Shalhevet, and Cypress defeated Crean Lutheran 21-13.
Tuesday’s matchups saw Birmingham crushing Van Nuys 54-0 in the City Section, while in the Southern Section, Beaumont topped Cajon 32-19, and Channel Islands prevailed over St. Bonaventure 20-6. El Segundo shut out West Torrance 32-0, and Highland dominated Eastside 54-0.
In other games, JSerra beat La Serna 40-9, Upland defeated Etiwanda 33-6, and Rancho Cucamonga came out on top against Chino Hills 29-16. Santa Margarita held off Beckman 27-6, while Redlands East Valley triumphed over Redlands 32-0.
With the season in full swing, high school flag football continues to showcase talented athletes and thrilling games across the City and Southern sections. Fans can look forward to more exciting matchups in the coming weeks.
