Rams Left Tackle Alaric Jackson Refuses to Discuss Reason for Suspension – Daily News

Los Angeles Rams left tackle Alaric Jackson and quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo have returned to practice after their two-game suspensions. Garoppolo, who was suspended for performance-enhancing drug use dating back to his time with the Las Vegas Raiders, will resume his role as the backup quarterback behind Matthew Stafford. Jackson, who was suspended for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy, will return as the starting left tackle.

During a press conference, Jackson declined to disclose the exact reason for his suspension but acknowledged his selfishness and expressed a desire to move forward. He stated that he had known about the league’s investigation for some time and received support from head coach Sean McVay and General Manager Les Snead.

The Rams struggled without Jackson, rotating through three different left tackles in their first two games. Jackson expressed regret for watching from the sidelines but is focused on moving forward. McVay noted that the team missed Jackson during his absence but is now looking to put the situation behind them and focus on the upcoming games.

In addition to Jackson’s return, the Rams have three offensive linemen on injured reserve. Guard Steve Avila is out with an MCL sprain, tackle Conor McDermott for an undisclosed injury, and Joe Noteboom is recovering from a high-ankle sprain. The team is preparing for their home opener against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday with a fresh lineup and a determination to bounce back from a challenging start to the season.
