Multiple people were shot near a Kentucky highway on Saturday night, prompting authorities to shut down a stretch of Interstate 75 north of London. The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office called it an “active shooter situation” and said that numerous individuals had been shot, although the extent of injuries and status of suspects was unclear. Governor Andy Beshear confirmed that he was aware of the situation and was offering support. The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives was also responding to assist state police and local authorities.
