Thursday saw a busy day of high school football action with several exciting matchups in both the City Section and Southern Section. In the City Section, notable scores included Chatsworth defeating Manual Arts 21-12, Crenshaw edging out L.A. Hamilton 8-6, Huntington Park dominating Fremont 40-0, and Jefferson cruising past Torres 48-0.
Over in the Southern Section, Buena came out on top with a 23-19 win over Fillmore, while West Ranch secured a 36-14 victory against Antelope Valley. Other standout performances included Century defeating Azusa 40-14, Westminster La Quinta defeating Bassett 41-6, and Bloomington coming out on top with a 38-11 win over Rubidoux. Covina also had a close 45-39 win against Diamond Ranch, and West Covina beat El Rancho 41-14.
In other Southern Section matchups, Norte Vista defeated Fontana 36-28, Foothill beat Orange 55-35, Estancia secured a 21-7 win over Katella, and La Quinta defeated Rancho Verde 13-6. San Jacinto had a close 19-16 win over Yorba Linda, while San Bernardino shut out Arroyo Valley with a 27-0 victory.
Across intersectional matchups, Franklin defeated San Gabriel 21-0, and Lynwood Firebaugh beat View Park 40-12. Overall, Thursday’s games showcased some impressive performances from high school football teams in both the City Section and Southern Section.
