Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy’s girls volleyball team continues to see success this season with a recent sweep against Buckley. Despite making mistakes, the Tologs managed to take advantage of their opportunities and secure the win. Head coach Trent Tcheng acknowledged the need to clean up errors on their side of the net to maintain control of the game.
The Tologs set the tone early in the match, taking a strong lead in the first set. However, costly turnovers allowed the Griffins to stay close in the game. Led by libero Vanessa Morgan and outside hitter Mia Cardillo, the Griffins put up a fight, but ultimately fell short to the Tologs.
With errors mounting in the third set, Buckley gained a significant lead. However, the Tologs rallied back with key performances from players like Elise Schoettler, Ally Du, and Peyton Recinos. The team’s energy and effort led to a third-set victory and secured the overall win.
Griffins head coach David Decker praised his young team’s talent and emphasized the importance of continued growth and experience. Both teams showed skill and determination throughout the match, with the Tologs ultimately coming out on top. The Tologs look to carry this momentum forward as they continue their season.
