The Mission Bay Park Committee has taken action against SeaWorld and other fireworks displays due to concerns raised by bird advocates over the littering of bird bodies along the bay shore this Fourth of July. The committee plans to draft a letter to city and state officials urging for the removal of fireworks displays that harm wildlife, such as nesting sea birds. The San Diego Bird Alliance has called for the revocation of SeaWorld’s fireworks permit, arguing that the pyrotechnics disrupt endangered birds.
