KKGO (1260 AM) is undergoing a transformation, starting with a month of non-stop Taylor Swift music. In October, the station will become KKGO (AM) and switch to a gold country format playing hits from the 1980s, ’90s, and early 2000s. Go Country 105 FM will continue focusing on current music and adding more gold hits from the ’90s and up. The classical music previously heard on 1260 will move to FM and digital streams. The station will no longer be available on FM digital channels but will continue to broadcast in HD on the AM signal. The station owner, Saul Levine, has invested in the transmitter to improve the sound quality of the station.
Bob Goodman is back on KCSN (88.5 FM) with a new show called “Super Sounds Of The ’70s” playing oldies from the 1970s. Goodman promises a curated playlist that will not devolve into typical Classic Rock formats. The show aims to highlight the diverse and influential music of the 1970s.
KCLA (100.7 FM) in San Pedro now has a website with an online listening link, making it accessible to listeners everywhere. The station offers a mix of music and plans to have an official ribbon-cutting ceremony at their downtown San Pedro studios on October 3rd.
Overall, radio listeners in Southern California can look forward to a mix of new formats, classic hits, and unique shows across various stations in the region.
