Aging Together, a non-profit organization serving the Culpeper region, is gearing up to host its Annual Art of Aging Lifestyle & Wellness Expos to address the needs of the growing older population in the area. By 2030, it is estimated that 25 percent of the region’s population will be over the age of 60, with the fastest growing segment being those 75 and older. In response to this demographic shift, Aging Together is organizing Expos in Warrenton, Sperryville, and Culpeper to provide resources and information on topics such as healthy living, healthcare, caregiving, and more.
The Expos are not just for older adults, but also for their families and caregivers, as well as younger individuals looking to learn more about available resources in the community. The goal is to help individuals prepare for the challenges and changes that come with aging, and to empower them with knowledge and support before a crisis occurs. The Expos will feature a variety of resources under one roof, making it easy for attendees to access information on healthy habits, mental health, transportation options, and more.
The Expos are free to attend and no registration is required. The upcoming dates are September 7 at Fauquier Health, September 18 at Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church, and October 3 at the Culpeper County Fieldhouse. For more information, visit Aging Together’s website or call (540) 829-6405. Aging Together’s mission is to connect people to communities and resources to improve quality of life as they age, serving the counties of Culpeper, Fauquier, Orange, Madison, and Rappahannock.
